Announcement regarding the didactic activity

Considering the situation created by the increase in COVID-19 cases and the measures imposed starting today, October 22nd, 2020, in Cluj-Napoca and Cluj County, the Board of Directors of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Iuliu Hațieganu” decided to continue the activity exclusively online, starting Monday, October 26th, 2020. This measure applies to all three faculties (Medicine, Dental Medicine and Pharmacy), for all years of study, as a preventive measure and in order to reduce the epidemiological risk of spread and infection with the new coronavirus.

In recent months, our way of living, behaving, studying has completely changed. We must fight, one and all, for this epidemic not to continue spreading. All the more so we, those in the service of health, must be responsible for the safety of those around us and ours, as individuals.

It was not at all easy for us to make this decision. We would have also preferred to continue onsite education, to see you at the clinical internships and to be able to interact as we did before. However, your safety, the safety of our teaching staff and patients is paramount at this time.

We assure you that we will do everything we can and even more so that your training takes place at the highest standards of academic performance. During the current academic year, you will recover everything that will not be possible in the next period through the online platforms that we have at our disposal.

Students and teaching staff are required to act responsibly and seriously, to support and back up the university, to observe the measures imposed by the authorities, so that the academic activity is carried out in optimal conditions.

Communication between us is essential, so please constantly keep an eye on the UMF website and the InfoUtil application for new information on this situation.

We continue to be by your side.

Thank you for your understanding and we wish you to stay healthy!

Rector,

Prof. Anca Dana Buzoianu, Ph.D.
